In the afternoon of December 2, the CEPE held a professor seminar in the conference room on the second floor of the Electric Machinery Hall in Yingxi Campus, the Vice President Sun Hongbin visited the college and attended the professor seminar, the leaders of College Administrative Office, and some professors attended the seminar, which was hosted by Ji Yufeng, the secretary of the party committee of the CEPE.
At the meeting, Secretary Ji Yufeng firstly welcomed Vice President Sun Hongbin on behalf of the college. After that, the Dean Han Xiaoqing introduced the general situation of the staff, students, professional construction and achievements, and introduced the 14th Five-Year Plan of the College, which focuses on building an EnergyInternet subject group, and establishing a scientific and technological infrastructure and experimental platform covering the main technical characteristics of the Energy Internet. All the participating professors focused on the theme of the conference, and made speeches and discussed in depth about talent cultivation, discipline construction, scientific research and other aspects, taking into account their own reality.
Sun Hongbin, after in-depth communication with the professors, fully affirmed the advantages of the College of Electrical and Power Engineering in serving the sustainable development of transformation in Shanxi. He pointed out that under the background of Shanxi vigorously promoting the energy revolution and transformation development, the college contains three major advantages, the first is the student source advantage, the quality of undergraduate and master's enrollment students in the CEPE is among the best in TYUT; the second is the cross-disciplinary advantage, the CEPE has three majors including electrical engineering and its automation, energy and power engineering, automation, that contribute to the discipline cross-fertilization; the third is the location advantage, Shanxi Province is acted as a large energy province, and the electricity is the pivotal force in the transformation and development of Shanxi. He stressed the need to encourage young teachers to strengthen academic exchanges, enhance the influence of their profession; the whole CEPE should united for the organization of the fifth IEEE Energy Internet and Energy Systems Integration Conference (EI²) and the construction of major scientific and technological infrastructure, to serve Shanxi in the transformation and development, to enhance the influence of electrical professional discipline construction, to be full of confidence to the business.
After the meeting, the teachers expressed that the visit and research of Vice President Sun Hongbin are inspiring, the college will be under the leadership of prof. Sun Hongbin, unit together to set initiatives, concert efforts to seek development, play the role of electric power people for the development of the college, the construction of the school, and the service in the transformation and development of Shanxi.
